About the Business
On a recent trip to Accra, Ghana, Shayna met Joe Kalala, a Ghanaian artisan. His fans were absolutely beautiful and he was very personable. She brought his fans back as gifts to friends and family. They were a hit and thus Aya Hand Fans was born. Aya is an adinkra symbol and means fern, which symbolizes endurance and resourcefulness. The fans are handmade with African wax print fabric and genuine leather.
